Bridget Smith was commissioned in 2003 by the De La Warr Pavilion to respond to the changing nature of the building during its recent refurbishment. Smith’s response to the building’s development was deeply personal one, challenging preconceptions about the Pavilion and utilising architecture as a springboard for other ideas to enter the work and exploring how the building makes you ‘feel’.
